South Korean authorities have announced that from July 1, 2021 on, travelers who have been fully vaccinated for at least 2 weeks will be able to enter Korea without having to undergo a quarantine. This applies in particular to business travelers and Korean nationals residing abroad, but also to most expatriates. It excludes however dependents.
,
The authorities exclude from this exemption travelers from countries with high circulation of variants, such as South Africa, Brazil or Chile. To date, 17 countries have been excluded but the list will be reviewed regularly by the authorities in order not to suffer a further increase in contamination.
,
This announcement marks the beginning of the phase of reopening borders to international travelers and a return to more simplicity in business travel. Many countries are considering the opportunity of a quarantine exemption for vaccinated travelers as more and more people now have access to the vaccine against Covid-19.
