The French minimum interprofessional growth wage (SMIC) was raised by 2.2% on 1 May 2023. It now amounts to €1,747.20 gross per month, on a 35-work hours per week basis (€20,966.40 gross per year).
This level impacting some of the salary thresholds for foreigners, here are the new minimum salaries to be met for any application filed after 1 May 2023 :
5th raise of minimal wage since Jan 2022, this is a reply to the ongoing inflation, with a clear effect on foreigners. Especially on fresh graduates, who now need to get a salary close to €42K per year to apply for the Passeport talent Salarié qualifié status after their graduation. Putting that into perspective, the required salary was below €36K per year in the early ages of the status in 2016.
