On 1 July 2021, the UK authorities have open a new immigration route for international students to remain in the country after graduating. It is now possible for them to extend their stay in the UK for a further 2 years (Bachelor and Master graduates) or 3 years (PhD graduates), allowing them to find a job and gain professional experience in the country. They will also be able to switch to a work status once they have found a suitable position.

Taking into consideration the current context of remote studies for students, the government has set the deadline to allow students to re-enter the UK and apply for the Graduate route to 27 September 2021.
