With the change of work habits in 2020, more and more countries are willing to attract foreigners through a Digital Nomad Visa. This allows foreign workers to work and reside in a foreign country without actually working for a local employer. It raises a number of issues in terms of social protection, tax and labor law, but there is no doubt governments are considering this seriously. Barbados, Mauritius, Dubai and Croatia are examples of countries already offering such a visa.

Greece now also plans to launch a digital nomad visa for remote workers. Government is working on establishing a 1-year travel visa that could be renewed for 2 years, extendable to family members.
